Paid gym memberships may offer group fitness classes or other structured activities, but you can get in just as challenging a workout at your NYC apartment with a gym. Here are a few ways.
Make your cardio high-intensity
Running on the treadmill can get a little tedious, so switch it up by transforming it into a high-intensity interval training session. This type of training involves short, intense bursts of exercise followed by slower periods of movement, which has been proven to support fat loss and bring other health benefits.
For instance, every 20 seconds, vary your intensity and speed on the treadmill from low to high to moderate and then between high and moderate for as long as you’d like before incorporating lower intensity as you wind down.
Use your own body weight
While 363 FIT is fully equipped with weight stations, you can try something different with just a yoga mat and your own body in our rooftop green space. Design a workout that includes exercises like push-ups, squats, burpees, and reverse lunges for 10 repetitions each, also building in at least 30 seconds of planks, mountain climbers, and other challenging routines that will help you strengthen and tone your muscles.
Incorporate dumbbells smartly
While many gym-goers want to break out the dumbbells to make any exercise more challenging, fitness experts advise you use them strategically, especially if you’re working out in your apartment gym without a trained group leader. Some of the best exercises to use dumbbells for include bicep curls for your arms, squats to strengthen your legs, and deadlifts to focus on your core.
All of these workouts can be carried out in the 363 FIT gym. Our apartment gym offers the luxury 363 Bond Street residents are used to, including 4,000 square feet of space, Peloton bikes, and Precor machines, as well as a state-of-the-art yoga studio. If you’re looking to take your fitness to the next level, look no further than right at home.
